Monsieur Adi

Meth, Ghost & Rae – “Our Dreams” (Video)

The video, directed by Rik Cordero, is better than most videos coming out, showing you the carnage of a shootout and how it came to be later in the video. And when I say carnage, I mean it... this is the bloodiest video I have seen in a while and although I think gore is usually over the top, for “Our Dreams” it is well utilized to convey the gangster story.
As for the song itself, the hook is crazy and you get to hear from some of the best Wu Tang Clan has to offer... gotta love it!

Kung Fu Magazine

STOP IT!... take your chair... now never do that again. *thwap*

No idea where this came from, but it looks like it could come in handy ...*cough*. A kungFu master teaches you how to do damage with a rolled up magazine.

I got some new music and information from Brooklyn rapper Yonas, the artist formerly known as CAUSE. The song “Mindless” below has radio appeal with the sung chorus and very pop synth-heavy beats and it has been stuck in my head ever since I first heard it. this is from his upcoming album which will be dropping this Spring/Summer called Seven.

Wale - Who Don't

adidas Originals “Hide and Seek” Stan Smith 80s TF

An interesting theme making its way into the adidas Originals 2010 spring/summer collection has been their “TF” line. The TF line is based around iconic classics which feature a transformable upper. The Stan Smith features a high-top profile in which the upper can be un-zipped and removed to create a low-top version in a different color.
if you don't fully get it, don't worry. neither did I at first. click the link for more pics and you'll see whats going on... pretty sick concept!

Sample Saturdays - March 21

In music, sampling is the act of taking a portion, or sample, of one sound recording and reusing it as an instrument or a different sound recording of a song.
Many of the greatest hip hop producers, from Dr.Dre to Kanye West, all use samples in their beats. The ability to take a portion of an old song or a song from a different genre and make it relevent in mainstream music or to a new generation is truely a talent. So to celebrate this, each saturday Urban Jungle will post a song by a popular hiphop artist, along with the song that was sampled.

This week's post is the hit "Empire State of Mind" ft Alicia Keys, from Jay-Z's most recent album The Blueprint 3. produced by Al Shux, Janet Sewell-Ulepic & Angela Hunte.

Drake talks relationship with Jay-Z

Drake collaborated with Jay-Z on Hov's Blueprint III, but alot of people were disappointed with the fact Drake was only on the hook. Now currently prepping his debut album Thank Me Later, Drake talks his collabo [Light Up] with Hov and he guarentees fans its "real rap."

"It's just me and Jay both rapping on it for an extended period of time," Drake told MTV News on the set of his video for 'Over.' "It's real rap. It's real rap. I do sing on it, but it's just on the hook — but it's rap. It's great. The perspective, the dynamic on the track — it's me and Jay's relationship on the song, basically. When you hear it, people will be like, 'Oh man.' That's how we are — just the two. He definitely has guided me a lot, as far as his words and his advice. We have a real funny rapport. I always enjoy my conversations with Jay. It's good."

Drake also revealed Jigga is constantly dropping knowledge on him.
"Sort of the same thing. [Jay] does it in this way — when Jay says something, it's different from anyone else. It just means that much more. Jay just has this aura about him. It's like, 'That's why you're Jay-Z.'" Drake explained. "For a guy like me who grew up wanting to be Jay-Z, it's influential — it's very, very influential. We have great conversations. Just life. I'm not an AWOL type of character that you have to sit down and instruct. I'm pretty aware of myself and how to go through this whole process. The conversations are just funny and good and settles my mind."

Drake's Thank Me Later is tentalively stated for a May release.

Drake - Fall For Your Type

http://www.divshare.com/download/10807585-242

Drake graces us with another new track. It's less than 2 minutes, so I don't think this is off his highly anticipated debut album Thank Me Later (which is sceduled to be released this year). Drizzy does his thing, showing why he should also be considered one of the better r&b singers in the game.

Drake talks Weezy: "You won't even notice he's gone, promise"

While Young Money's head honcho Lil Wayne is behind bars, Drake says you can count on him to keep Young Money's head above water. While shooting his video for his lead single Over in LA, Drizzy talked about Weezy going to jail and how he will make sure fans don't even know he's missing.

"I'm gonna do everything I told him I would do, what I said in the song: keep us afloat till he gets back. You won't even notice he's gone. Promise."

Drake speaks on Weezy being a legend, who is apart of a rare breed.

"Lil Wayne is a legend," Drake continued. "I could never classify Wayne as victim. He's too strong to me. Wayne is who he wants to be. People don't understand. It's really not an act. Lil Wayne is a character you'll rarely run across, probably for the existence of human beings. He is that guy. He is Lil Wayne for a reason. He's a rock star, a visionary, a workaholic. He doesn't function like anybody I know. He's a rare breed.

Drizzy also discussed how stars have to be more careful since they are under the limelight and under more scrutiny.

"I don't think fame really has anything to do with his situation. We take precautions. All of us do. To be in the public eye and to be envied and have people who hate you and never have met you or have people who love you and tattoo your face on their body and never have met you, it's an odd feeling for anybody. It's a rush [for me]. I love it. It gets weird sometimes. So it's just personal choices we all make. I never felt that threatened. I'm not sure what's going through his head at the time. But Wayne has a reason for everything, always. I trust in Wayne. I believe in Wayne. He's gonna be all right."

http://www.divshare.com/download/10785263-6bd

Young Money is back at it. This one is off of Gudda Gudda's upcoming mixtape Back To Guddaville and is worth a listen. Nothing crazy but lil' wayne gives us some solid punchlines, as we've come to expect from him on any track he goes in on. It's good to still be hearing new wayne verses while weezy is, as Jay-Z puts it, "away at camp".

Kanye Gets Back To Rap

Kanye West - What It Is (Demo)

http://www.divshare.com/download/10752037-1a3

Chicago rapper Kanye West may be ready to leave auto-tune behind for his forthcoming effort slated to hit stores some time this year. In a recent interview with MTV News, Kanye says it's about time for him to "bust another rap album" because his new rhymes are "awes-mazing."

"I kill that rap shit that's what I do," he said of his upcoming LP.

"Lyrics right now, they're awes-mazing. They're basically untouchable. I'm about to take it to a whole 'nother level. I'd be scared if I was not me."

Kanye went on to claim his status in the game as the Michael Jordan or Michael Jackson of rap. A sentiment often proclaimed by his "big brother," Jay-Z.

"As far as rapping goes, how can I say this? Jordan, Michael Jackson — it's what I do."
